Carrie snuggled down into her duvet, content with the nest she'd made, curled up amongst her floor mat, her blankets and her pillow, a lot like her mouse, Marco.

She snuffled sleepily at the distant, far off sound of a zipper being pulled down, and bare feet shuffling across the tent floor. She ignored the sunlight filtering through the open flap, and the upset, insistent cawing of Luci's crow-bird-thing in the distance.

She even did her best to refuse waking when her blankets were tugged right off of her.

She couldn't, however, ignore the cheery sound of Keenan's morning greeting as he towered over her bed.

"Good morning, sleepyheads! The day is young and the sun is shining! Let us all appreciate this beautiful summers day for the happiness and youthfulness that it spreads through the land!"

Carrie's eyes shot open finally, face grumpy and appearance entirely muddled from sleep.

But then, she caught sight of Keenan's turtle, all but two feet from her face, and swaying jovially with the momentum. It's one tiny, wrinkly little eye stared at her as it swayed. Way above it, the five-year-old boy smiled, uncomprehending. Her socked toes curled and her eyes went wide in shock.

And then, Carrie Tucker screamed.

Sleeping was perhaps one of the past times people could have, at least for those who could manage it anywhere. Lucifer certainly didn't like to be disturbed at the crack of dawn by idiots with no clothes on.
But he endeavoured to keep his eyes closed and ignore him, that was at least until he heard Carrie scream, causing him to leap out of his messy array of blankets, stumbling slightly as his legs got tangled, swinging out at Keenan's chest to push him away from her, before he'd quite put all the pieces together.

Whatever the situation, when a girl screams because some guy with his 'turtle', as Carrie often called it, was hanging above her head, you just shoved them. Besides, he'd just assumed it was Keenan, really it could be any one of the stupid nudists that skulked around here - sure most were harmless, but instinct always told the dark haired boy that this place could attract some utter weirdos as well, weirder than his parents were.

Bleary eyed, he focused back in on the situation, yawning widely and scowling at the unpleasant taste in his mouth, before narrowing his eyes at both Carrie and Keenan for waking him up fully.
He'd deal with Carrie later though.

"Keenan get the fuck out of here!" He decided this was a good time to use some words from his new vocabulary.

But as usual, the other dark haired boy was not put off, attempting to sit down amongst the blankets - which was not going to happen, even if Lucifer had to kick him right in his 'turtle' to get rid of him.
"I didn't know you guys were sharing a tent, hey can I share with you?" The boy asked eagerly, apparently using what little in his head there was, not to sit down when Lucifer glared at him.

"No" Lucifer answered flatly, "Now get out and don't you dare come back in here without any clothes on again!"

Keenan looked like he was going to say something, but then he closed his mouth, nodded at Carrie and left through the flap again, not bothering to do it up again behind him.
Falling back down onto his bed with a groan of annoyance, Lucifer rolled onto his side to glare at the smaller child, "Really, screaming? You couldn't have told him to get out more quietly?"
He was being unfair, he knew that, but he was certainly not a morning person and girl's screams were truly one of the most irritating things imaginable.

To say that Carrie was terrified of Keenan's boy bits would probably have been wrong. To say that she felt sick when she saw them dangling about in front of her face probably would have been far more accurate.

It was with no small amount of relief that she heard Luci's furious (and rather rude) comment, and she sighed as Keenan moved away, attention now focussed on the other side of the tent instead.

The tiny five-year-old hastily adjusted her bedtime socks, which had slipped low during the night. She hated having bare feet - truly hated it. Even more than Keenan and his gross, dangly turtle.

As Luci dealt with the neo-hippy child, Carrie patted down her bedding for Marco the Mouse, gathering him up into her tiny hands and popping the poor, sleepy creature away in the pocket of her huge night shirt. She ignored Keenan's suggestion that he share with them as best she could (despite the sharp pang of annoyance and fear that surge through her tummy at the thought of him and his stupid turtle interrupting her time with Luci), instead rubbing her eyes and clambering out from her nest of bed covers. She was tired still, but she had the feeling that, having been woken up, there was no hope at all of her settling back to sleep. Unfortunately.

Instead she edged around Keenan nervously, making it to Luci's side just in time for his fury to be let loose on her instead. She was calmed by his usual grumpiness and otherwise ignored him, too. His bed looked safe and comfy, especially as she knew that he wouldn't let Keenan come all the way over here, shaking his turtle about like he was trying to use it as a maraca.

In fact, he'd left their tent entirely by the time that Carrie began tugging Luci's duvet back, shuffling socked toes under the blanket and getting ready for what would undoubtedly be a huge fuss.

"Move your elbow, please," she said with a wide yawn, plonking her bottom down unceremoniously and lying back to snuggle her head into a free portion of the pillow. "It's very bony to lie on, you know."

Watching Keenan leave the tent, eyes fixed on the other boy's movements until he had closed the tent flap behind him, Lucifer was about to flop back down onto his bed, when something brushed against his elbow.
"Move your elbow, please" Carrie requested, "It's very bony".

The dark haired boy's first reaction was one of shock. What in Kami's name was she doing curled up in his blankets, on his side of the bed. He'd drawn the figurative line hadn't he? Perhaps she needed a more literal boundary.
"Carrie this is my side of the tent!" He snapped, trying to push her back onto her's, "I told you when I let you in that you had your side and I had mine!"

She didn't do this with anybody else, why did the silly, small dark haired girl insist on winding him up. It had gotten to a point over this year where it almost seemed deliberate. The more he shouted at her, the more she seemed to get on his nerves.

Scooting over to her side of the tent, he gave her blankets a tug, hoping that he'd be able to overpower her. Even though Lucifer wasn't particularly strong, Carrie was very small, so perhaps he had enough strength in him.
He wasn't quite sure why he was fighting with her about this now though. It was morning and he was awake, in all likelihood he wouldn't be able to get back to sleep again, so what was the point.
Releasing the blankets with a huff, he gave the sleeping bag a light kick and stormed outside, flinching a little when he realised how bright it was and to the sharp reminder of how many naked people there were walking around outside.

Growling, he fell back into the tent again, glancing back at Carrie before burying his head in his hands, "You annoy me so much, how are you the only normal one here?"
